OUR COMMISSIONING TEAM
NORESCO’s Commissioning Teams are responsible for ensuring projects are designed, installed, functionally tested and capable of meeting the design intent that the design engineer envisioned. They do this by assuring a proven combination of administrative (office based) and hands on (field based) procedures are performed on complex energy conservation construction projects in large commercial and institutional facilities located nationwide.
We have an immediate need for a Commissioning Agent
As a Commissioning Agent at NORESCO, you will have a great deal of interaction with other NORESCO project team members as well as subcontractors and customers. Since you will be managing the NORESCO Commissioning Process it is of the utmost importance that you are a motivated professional with excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills.
Becoming a successful Commissioning Agent at NORESCO requires proficiency in a range of functional activities and disciplines. The following are some of these requirements.
Organizational Skills – Able to manage a portfolio of multiple projects and assignments in a fast paced and continuously changing environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a diverse team(s) of developers, project managers, engineers, technicians, subcontractors and clients to meet deadlines and maintain agreed upon schedules.
Technical Ability – Able to understand how complex mechanical and electrical equipment and systems (Boilers, Chillers, VFDs, Controls, Pumps, etc.) work from experience or reading technical manuals. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain proficient skill levels in multiple technologies and systems.
Analytical Thinking / Troubleshooting – Able to investigate and identify the root causes of problems, secure relevant information and identify possible solutions. Demonstrated ability to obtain data to effectively analyze issues.
Communication – Able to accurately summarize technical issues and facilitate the exchange of information to all appropriate team members. Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely explain observations and conclusions regarding technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences using verbal and written means of communication.
Facility Auditing – Able to walk through facilities to inspect HVAC systems and prepare a basic assessment of configuration, condition, maintenance, etc. Demonstrated ability to use survey observations and interviews with facilities staff to identify and evaluate equipment or system issues that relate to operability, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Contracting – Able to work with project managers to review contracts and submittals in order to identify contractual obligations pertaining to scope of work, deliverables, commissioning, and performance guarantees.
Document Control – Ability to produce high quality commissioning documentation at project close out by creating checklists, completing documents during start-up, collecting customer approvals, reviewing all test results, maintaining an accurate issues log, and organizing electronic files of all commissioning test documents prior to production.
Design Review – Able to assist our design engineers with reviewing engineering submittals, progress drawings, and control sequences for compliance with project scope and design intent. Demonstrated ability to provide constructive input during the design phase, prior to construction or installation, to support design/build objectives.
* Education / Certifications
- BS Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education i.e.; Navy Nuclear Power program. AS degree in a technical field and additional experience would also qualify.
* Experience / Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience in construction, engineering, facilities operation, or energy services. Equivalent military service in a similar field may also qualify.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is required. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project and Microsoft PowerPoint is desirable.
Ability to work at remote locations with at least 50% overnight travel is required.
