Role Overview

The Knowledge & Change Strategies team is looking for a change manager that enjoys being part of a dynamic team and working on cross-functional, transformational projects and programs.As a change manager in this organization, you will lead change management activities for assigned projects primarily within Operation & Quality functions to address the people side of change.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Change Management support at the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Technology level by applying a structured methodology to transformational efforts:

  • Assess the change impact, complete/facilitate change management assessments, evaluate and ensure user readiness

  • Collaborate with teams to create change management strategies

  • Develop a set of actionable and targeted change management plans and tools (i.e., communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan) while considering adoption, reinforcement and celebration

  • Facilitate, coordinate, consult and coach project teams

  • Support, engage and coach senior leaders/sponsors

  • Write communications and create presentations

  • Coordinate with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan

  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices in the area of change management, knowledge management and change leadership.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with processes and procedures in the area of change management, knowledge management and organizational development supporting Collins Aerospace business strategies.

  • Work collaboratively across the organization, including other teams/projects/departments within AME&T, Operations & Quality and any area within Collins Aerospace.

  • Apply project management principles including scope and schedule management, risk and opportunity management, critical problem solving, to ensure on time delivery of projects that meet customer requirements.

  • Fill the project manager role on smaller, less complex initiatives as needed.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prosci Certified Change Manager, preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint preferred

  • Some Project Management experience preferred

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

  • A strong understanding of how people go through a change and the change process

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills to a wide variety of audiences

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Willingness to share best practices and partner with organizations inside and outside of Collins Aerospace

  • Organized and able to coordinate resources

  • Ability to interact with others by building relationships, influencing and being inclusive

  • Ability to address risks and challenges in a timely manner

  • Knowledge of various training practices and learning styles

  • Ability to influence/coach/teach others

  • Strong personal effectiveness skills such as accountability, flexibility, attention to detail, self-management, and ethics

  • Ability to work autonomously and be creative and innovative in approach to strategy and implementation of change initiatives

  • Willingness to continue learning

  • Understanding of basic Knowledge Management principles (transfer of best practices, building communities, knowledge sharing practices, knowledge bases, etc.)
