Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and perform traceability for system and component technical requirements utilizing DOORS or similar applications.

  • Develop Procurement Specification Documents (PSDs) based on customer and internally derived requirements.

  • Lead supplier selection and technical assessment.

  • Work with suppliers on development and review of technical documents that support the design and testing of assigned components.

  • Responsible for management of supplier tasks such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), drawings, Qualification Test Plans (QTPs), Qualification Similarity Analysis Report (QSARs), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and Qualification Test Reports (QTRs).

  • Driving closure of technical issues and risks with the supplier to ensure on time delivery of deliverables and hardware.

  • Visit suppliers as required for process improvements, product design and enhancements, qualification testing and trouble shooting.

  • Conducts design reviews with supplier and airframe/engine customers to ensure the component or system meets all design requirements and is acceptable to proceed to the next phase.

  • Works with the suppliers to prepare and conduct Test Readiness Review (TRR).

  • Manage qualification testing technical and schedule risk to ensure suppliers meet program and certification milestones.

  • Responsible for coordinating field issue resolution which includes management of vendor material review requests, linkage with Aftermarket for real time resolution of issues, and working with SME’s to explore permanent resolutions to recurring issues.

  • Lead component and system root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) investigation into test of field investigations.

  • Support Aftermarket and supply chain initiatives for cost savings.


  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a US Person including green card holders

  • Must possess excellent MS Office Skills, especially Excel

  • Important to be creative, analytical, self-starter, energetic and work well in a team environment at all levels of organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge related to the design and qualification of mechanical and electromechanical equipment (LRU)

  • Familiar with environmental and electrical qualification testing per RTCA/DO-160 and Mil-STD-810 or equivalent

  • Experience with creating system requirements and performing requirements traceability

  • Technical Writing is a plus

  • Understanding of LEAN/Continuous Improvement is a plus

  • Knowledge of MS Project (or equivalent) a plus

  • Knowledge of pneumatic valves or anti-icing systems is a plus
