The Carrier Collierville factory began production in 1967 and is second largest HVAC manufacturer in the world. For 50 plus years we have prided ourselves on our continued commitment to building a quality product for our customer. The facility entails 850,000 square feet and employs 1,800 employees. This is a fast paced, unionized environment with many moving pieces – every 8 seconds there is a unit coming off 1 of 8 assembly lines, and we produce 1.3 million units annually to customers across the world.

We are seeking an innovative, data driven, results-oriented leader to contribute to our continued legacy as an intern for summer 2020.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Engineers team with documentation, fabrication, investigation and testing on systems and processes

  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria

  • Provide support in the analysis and test activities in support of escape system development and Operations Support

  • Be an active participant in department and site continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong initiative, interpersonal and team skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • The ability to multi-task and work well under deadline pressure

  • Solid analytical skills

  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory and work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree in an approved program in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or related engineering discipline. Must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher
