Role Overview

The individual will be accountable to the Site Controller with regards to the timeliness and accuracy of accumulating and reporting financial results and consolidated planning processes. Working directly with various departments within the business and Finance team, the General Accounting Manager will be responsible to assist in ensuring a strong Controls and Ethical environment across the business through assessments, testing and training and be accountable to the Site Controller with regards to ensuring eSOX reporting requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervises accountants and / or support- level employees for the organization to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

  • Oversees activities related to general ledger preparation and / or projects, to assure timely completion and accuracy of accounting activities.

  • Provides detailed financial analysis for the organization’s operating results and proposed activities, and presents the analysis to management, in order to keep management updated and informed.

  • Oversees implementation of monthly and quarterly financial and compliance processes, to ensure that all compliance requirements are adhered to.

  • Develops and explains accounting policies, procedures, and control processes to ensure that policies are clear and understood by all.

  • Develops, directs, plans and evaluates accounting policies and procedures including cost accounting, general accounting, and statutory accounting

  • Manages the planning and direction of accounting activities, including the maintenance of the ledger accounts and financial statements.

  • Manages and investigates tax, consolidation and close data.

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of monthly Financial Close and Planning process.

  • Utilize ACE methods/tools to streamline and simplify reporting and analysis processes currently in place.

  • Analyze monthly financial results and provide detailed variance explanations to plan/forecast.

  • Provide financial leadership including mentoring and assisting in the professional development of staff members and site leadership regarding accounting and controls processes and policies.

  • Be a proactive business partner, helping drive financial achievement across the business.

  • Effectively work cross-functionally to ensure facility-wide compliance and make recommendations to develop and maintain a robust controls environment aligned with company policies and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

  • Perform analysis of assigned activities and develop standardized reporting and analytical tools to assist management in understanding and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the plant.

  • Assist in identifying and driving cost reduction efforts, working capital opportunities and manufacturing productivity improvements.

  • Present data and financial information in a clear and concise manner to management.

  • Develop financial models and support ad-hoc analytical activities and reporting requests to aide management decision making.

  • Take a leadership role in developing and supporting new tools, processes, procedures and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

SAP and HFM experience preferred

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
