Our Columbus, GA facility currently has an opening for a Site Materials Manager to oversee the Materials organization.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
Leading and coordinating material flow and schedules to support new technology, product development, methods development and qualification projects and existing product improvements and cost reduction programs across the Columbus Forge business
This includes leading teams, providing thought leadership and directing them in all aspects of the materials, manufacturing development, test programs, technology maturation, TRL/MRL advancement, product qualification and introduction support
Managing customer expectations through daily reports and communications
Collaborating with various groups such as product design and development, analysis and testing, manufacturing/operations, supply chain, as well as academic partners and customers; ensuring on-time and quality execution of advanced materials & manufacturing initiatives
Provide expertise as well as lead product and related materials, manufacturing technologies and methods roadmaps
Interface across Columbus Forge strategic business unit to provide expertise and support in the development and deployment of materials, manufacturing and methods initiatives
Represent Columbus Forge team in external advanced materials and manufacturing community, support business development engagements with internal and external customers
Interface with and influence external materials and manufacturing institutes, centers of excellences and expertise to enable Columbus Forge strategic business unit mission and deliverables
Guide, mentor and train employees to help them identify and solve problems, and enhance their skills and capabilities in the area of materials scheduling and manufacturing
Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience in Materials or, 8 years of experience in Materials with an advanced degree
Direct supervision/management experience required
US Citizenship required due to Federal Contracts
Proven materials and manufacturing background, and problem solving skills
Experience working in a cross-functional, cross-geographical team environment at all levels of the organization with demonstrated team leader skills
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated experience in directly interfacing with internal and external customers.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams of diverse backgrounds and expertise to successful completion of the projects/programs
Knowledge of SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool
