Position Overview
Collins Aerospace in Danbury is seeking a SENIOR DIGITAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER to provide digital electrical design solutions and technical leadership to novel and challenging products of varying size throughout the product life cycle. You will contribute to the development of electro-optical systems serving both scientific and national security needs. These platforms present unique challenges as our customers drive for new and innovative solutions in the dynamic and revolutionary field of space based remote sensing. Your responsibilities will include:
Develop digital FPGA designs, including conceptual design, verification plan, detailed HDL design, testbench creation, design simulation, timing verification, design implementation, hardware verification, and design documentation
Create board-level digital circuit designs, including conceptual design, schematic entry, circuit analysis, board layout support, board-level testing, integration testing, and design documentation
Support designs through validation testing including generation of test plans and pass/fail criteria pertaining to certification of test equipment and formal in-process and system-level acceptance testing of deliverable hardware
Work with program teams, including other engineering disciplines and program management, to develop design concepts
Prepare and present material for formal design reviews, customer meetings, and technical proposal activities
Education / Certifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
Experience / Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Working knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog
Awareness of good FPGA digital design practices
Familiarity with synthesis & place / route tool flow
Experience with schematic capture tools for circuit design
Utilization of circuit analysis to assess design margin
Ability to execute tasks efficiently with minimal direction
Preferred skills:
Design for high reliability & space applications
Creating testbench simulation environments
Practical application of DSP concepts in FPGA designs
Ability to develop automated, self-checking testbench environments
Knowledge of constrained random testing, code coverage, and functional coverage concepts
Utilization of Worst Case Circuit Analysis methodologies for digital designs
