Job Description

The F-35/F135 Program is the largest program in the Department of Defense and includes delivering to seven Partner nations and a growing list of other International customers. Serving in an especially critical role in the F135 Program Office, this position provides an opportunity to engage in learning all key program-related activities. In this role, you will ensure all F135 strategic production programs engine requirements are planned, mitigated and executed to meet customer requirements and financial plans. The Strategic Programs Associate Director will lead the effort to minimize disruptions from the global supply chain, enabling the production ramp to continue uninterrupted.

The responsibilities include developing and maintaining sourcing initiatives, plans and mitigation playbooks to protect the F135 Build Plan, Strategic Programs business acquisition, negotiating strategic contracts, contract review and execution to strategic contract deliverables.

You will also be the primary interface with the Joint Program Office customer for strategic program initiatives. This role works closely with the F135 Production Program Director, F135 Production Chief, Operations, Operations Master Scheduling, Contracts, Business Development, the Product Delivery Center, Industrial Management, Finance and many other functionsacross the enterprise. Having the knowledge of the hardware qualification process and the ability to efficiently and thoroughly complete it preserving the highest level of quality is a key requirement.

This position will also be working in a very heavily-matrixed environment covering multiple part families in conjunction with the F135 Production Chief, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and a multitude of PW executives. You are required to brief and attend Senior Executive Leadership reviews and meetings on a regular basis, as well as brief our executive customers on delivery status and plans.

Education/Certifications:

A bachelor's degree is required, with preference for engineering or business disciplines. Other disciplines with related work history will be considered.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing/production operations, direct or indirect program/operations management, project engineering, supply chain or logistics management

  • Must be a US Citizen due to government contracts

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain US Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with F-135 engine, F-35 program, or other government programs especially for aerospace

  • Ability to interface with, align, and present to government officials, executives, and personnel at all levels of the business while remaining customer focused.

  • Self-motivated, forward thinking, agile, able to influence teams both within and outside of the organization
