UTC has embarked on it’s most transformational project yet – separating the company into three standalone and successful companies. With an aggressive goal of accomplishing day 1 independent companies by April 1st, 2020, UTC Digital is critical to making this happen. The Digital Separation team consists of integrated teams across the various Digital domains, including Infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity and contracts management. The Applications Separation team is a key workstream that is responsible for ensuring that Carrier and Otis have the applications that they need to operate the Corporate functions that they don’t do or have today, as well as disentangling the systems to make sure that the they are completely separate. In addition to the applications themselves, the Apps team is also the key connection point between 17 different functional teams (Finance, HR, etc) and the overall Digital separation activities.

Being a part of a project like this is an opportunity that doesn’t come often. The Applications Separation team is looking for a talented individual to join the team as an Associate Director, Finance COE Separation Project . Separating the Finance systems such as Treasury and Tax are critical path to accomplishing day 1. It’s an exciting and challenging role for the right person – someone that thrives in an environment where there’s no playbook, isn’t afraid of day to day change, and is eager to roll up their sleeves, solve problems and execute.


  • Under the guidance of the Finance DT leads, work on the Finance application separation deliverables such as the technical requirements documentation, development/build, unit testing, system testing and end to end testing. Key Finance systems include SAP Treasury, Hyperion, Sabrix and Longview Tax, etc.

  • Work closely with the infrastructure counterparts at Corporate as well as Otis and Carrier to ensure new SpinCo environments are provisioned per timelines, and that technical issues are driven to closure and risks identified and mitigated.

  • Work with network team to ensure Finance application performance/stress testing is defined and executed.

  • Own and execute the test strategy for the Finance applications in line with the overall test strategy. Work with other application leads and functional counterparts on cross app dependencies to ensure aligned execution.

  • Post day 1, execute plan for disentangling applications that are still being hosted by UTC for Carrier and Otis (12 month exit strategy)

  • Ensure cross team communication as well as communication to the applications leadership and overall DT leadership teams.


  • 10 years of experience with applications and infrastructure

  • Self starter, adaptable, detail oriented, strategic thinker

  • Experience with large projects/implementations is a plus


BS or BA Degree in a technical program desired but not required.

Advanced Degree is a plus.
