Responsibilities:

  • Function as a hands-on Business Controls (BC) Infrastructure specialist to support and administer UTC's suite of applications. The candidate will participate in maintaining the on-site BC components, both hardware and software, and interacting with system admin and networking teams as necessary.

  • Establish support model for a critical and robust environment in conjunction with management

  • Develop strong partnership with functional team and customers to ensure open communication and alignment on ongoing initiatives, understanding business requirements and impact

  • Evaluate current state environment and provide recommendations, derive strategy to improve current environment

  • Through training and experience, become system matter expert in BC technology and research/explore industry best practices to bring back to UTC environment

  • Contribute to the planning, coordination and execution of BC infrastructure maintenance tasks (migration to different hardware/cloud and/or operating system, licensing of new features and/or upgrades).

  • Troubleshoot and mitigate issues. This includes creating standard work and performing effective root cause analysis.

  • Coordinate change control activity as required (e.g. new releases, software updates, configuration changes). Testing/coordination of O/S and security patches.

  • Contribute to and maintain security, compliance, and change controls.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience working with application support and infrastructure components and services with the ability to quickly diagnose and remediate service issues.

  • Demonstrated customer focus, evaluating decisions through the eyes of the customer, building strong relationships and evidence in partnering with customers to help shape their future initiatives

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, communicating in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluating information to make decisions, anticipate obstacles and develop plans to resolve

  • A passion for current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field desired, work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

US Citizen or US Person required.

Work could involve ITAR-regulated projects.
