The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting global compliance with rules, regulations and reporting requirements to assist us in identifying and managing the actual and potential liabilities associated with those requirements. The role also calls for coordinating with various consultants, regulatory services, regulatory agencies, Legal, operational EH&S and facilities staff to ensure all regulatory obligations are met.
Identify global emerging EH&S regulatory requirements and develop the overall strategies and methodologies for ensuring continued compliance
Work closely with Legal, consultants and regulatory services to review and interpret EH&S regulations
Work collaboratively with regulatory agencies in confirming compliance requirements as necessary
Work directly with affected operations on a routine basis to ensure their awareness of regulatory changes and in implementing identified strategies and methodologies
Implement and/or conduct the necessary EH&S auditing functions to ensure regulatory compliance obligations are being met
Oversee the timely completion of local, regional and corporate EH&S government agency reporting requirements
Coordinate public information and communications with internal stakeholders prior to release
A bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering or related technical field
Five to ten years of EH&S experience, with specific duties related to regulatory compliance and/or EH&S audits
Familiarity with global regulatory compliance programs
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization, as well as externally with contractors, regulatory officials and others
Self-directed and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong project management skills
Strong leadership skills, including consensus-building and decision-making on complex regulatory/technical matters, as well as coordination with other responsible parties and contractors
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience managing a global footprint preferred
Multiple language skills a plus
