As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available at our Havant Facility in the UK, including a Temp Electronics (Software) Engineer.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will provide a complete design solution for specific programs from initial design onception through to design release for manufacture. Act as the Design

Authority for products designed, and continue to provide assistance on those products and technical aspects where they are required during the manufacture and life cycle of the product.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Control of projects designated to them by the Engineering Manager from initial conception through the initial production run to agreed timescales

  •  Design new circuits, systems and devices or develop existing technology

  •  Systematically improve the detailed design of a piece of electronicequipment

  •  Ensure that a product will work with devices developed by others, can bemade reliably and will perform consistently in specified operatingconditions

  •  Liaise with customer throughout the design cycle to ensure conformance torequirements

  •  Liaise with suppliers during initial design stages to ensure conformance todesign criteria

  •  Liaise with all relevant departments throughout the design cycle to ensurea smooth and efficient introduction of new products

  •  Keep the Engineering Manager informed of design progress and of problemsboth internally and externally

  •  Provide technical documentation for each design for manufacturing,reliability and testing purposes

  •  Providing technical support for all projects throughout the product life

  •  Provide daily assistance of electronics support to others

  •  Observe all document and data control protocols

  •  Follow defined process, procedures and specifications

  •  Ensure all safety regulations are met

  •  Assist with Software solutions, verification and documentation

  •  Provide cover for the Software Engineer where appropriate

  •  Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the EngineeringManager

Key Skills/Experience

  •  Computer literate: word, excel, project etc

  •  CAD literate: Altium or CADstar

  •  Schematic Capture

  •  Can bus, RS485, RS232 etc

  •  EMC (Radiated and Susceptibility) design awareness

  •  Cable Harness design

  •  Certification, Environmental and Reliability Testing

  •  Theoretical Test of designs using Simulation

  •  Hands on build, test and repair

  •  Project planning, costing and budgets

  •  Work under pressure on own initiative

  •  Knowledge of Software embedded C, PIC/ARM

Qualifications

  •  Degree ideally or HNC / HND minimum in Electronics

  •  Minimum 5 years related experience, appropriate education, training andskills to compliment an Electronics Engineering role
