As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Quality Team Leader in our Seating business located in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland.

JOB TITLE: Quality Team Leader


RESPONSIBLE TO: Quality Manager

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week. Hours of work will be 8:30am - 5:15pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am - 1:00pm Friday. The post holder may be required at times to work outside his/her normal working hours for the effective performance of the duties of the post

  • Lead and support the Quality Engineering teams in the delivery of quality improvements within manufacturing and assembly, ensuring that the deliverables of quality, cost and delivery are met.

  • Ensure that all products are manufactured to the relevant international standard(s), and meet or exceed customer expectations.


  • As the first line manager for a team of Quality Engineers you will be required to provide leadership and direction in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Develop the team, and individual skills to support the business goals and manage performance.

  • Identify training needs and implement a plan to ensure the team can support the needs of the business.

  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of Quality Engineering talent.

  • Support the development of annual department goals and generate implementation plans to deliver against agreed targets.

  • Represent the business with customers and regulatory authorities with the objective of inspiring confidence and enabling positive cooperation in the quality of products and services provided.

  • Lead problem solving processes to ensure robust and timely response to customer related concerns and to develop/expand the problem solving process to be a plant-wide activity capturing supplier and process related concerns.

  • Develop and improve Quality Engineering processes, including the support and leadership of continuous improvement through 5S, Lean and Problem Solving.

• Promote and support a safe working environment in line with Company objectives.

• Identify and lead projects that align with the business goals and the overall strategic direction of the facility.

• Encourage cross departmental collaboration and knowledge sharing throughout the business.

• Encourage and motivate others to make decisions and take calculated risks to achieve new levels of business performance.

• Manage and support as appropriate internal and customer FAI's, ensuring that quality requirements are clearly defined

• Any other duties as required to support business needs, i.e. control of non­ conforming product, supporting CCB and MRB, develop/monitor production line performance metrics and travelling nationally and internationally.


  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a Quality or Engineering environment or 2 years experience and completion of a relevant development program.

  • Hold a minimum of HND/HNC qualification in engineering, quality or other related field.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate experience of applying structured Problem Solving methodologies, e.g. 8D.


  • 5 years working experience in Quality or Engineering gained in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring and leading small teams.

  • Knowledge and application of IS09001/AS9100 standards.
