Carrier Fire & Security Products is seeking Director, Product Management & Marketing for its Kidde residential fire products business. Summary Working cross functionally with the broader Kidde team, the Manager of Product Management will be responsible for developing the long term roadmap of innovative fire suppression and key safe products while managing the active development of the current roadmap to specific deadlines. The core activities of the Product Manager will be to define and manage product lifecycle activities through strategic and tactical initiatives including portfolio planning, on time delivery to Passport development, active sustaining efforts, and proactive communication to key stakeholders. The candidate must be passionate about product management and value effective collaboration across multi-functional teams.

Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage new product development and product lifecycle management activities for a portfolio of fire and safety products designed for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Establish strong relationships with Sales Teams and Channel Representatives to validate the product direction and support customer requests. Deliver on the solution’s New Product Developments (NPDs) by ensuring timely creation of business opportunity proposals and product requirement documents and building consensus with Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Customer Service, Pre/Post Sales Support, MarCom, Legal, and other functions. Drive product lifecycle management activities including SKU rationalization, excess and obsolete inventory reduction, and product end-of-life. Implement plans for phase-out / sell-off of slow-moving and low-margin products where appropriate. Lead competitive tear-downs of products to understand product differentiation and help define the value proposition. Develop a Sales “Playbook” to define the go-to-market strategy including value proposition, key messaging, competitor differentiation, data sheets, and other marketing collateral. Document pricing and positioning strategy for the solution. Demonstrate financial acumen by understanding solution component financial drivers including cost/schedule, incremental revenue, gross revenue, and gross margin. Proactively research and understand root causes of NPD revenue gaps based upon discussions with Channel Representatives and Sales Teams. Concisely communicate action plans to the leadership team and demonstrate the ability to follow-through on those action plans to completion. Work closely with Sourcing and Engineering to evaluate vendor offerings and explore opportunities. Demonstrate a relentless focus on customer across the organization EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Undergraduate degree in relevant technical, engineering or business required; MBA or MS highly desirable. Minimum 5 years of professional experience with high-technology products Successful track record of driving complex, multi-faceted projects and product management initiatives Experience operating within fast-paced retail and consumer industry; consumer goods product development experience a plus Passionate and articulate speaker with excellent verbal communication and presentation skills Able to travel as required, generally less than 20% Position located in Mebane (Raleigh-Durham Metro), North Carolina at Kidde business unit headquarters.
