We are seeking a radar systems engineer to support the design and development of the next generation of advanced airborne radar and weather radar products. The radar systems engineer, under the guidance of a Sr Systems Engineer or Project Engineer, may participate in several aspects of development including requirements capture, design, test development, and validation. In addition to participating in design, the radar systems engineer will support current product lines through fault isolation and system performance improvement activities.
Contribute to the system design process by providing input into, and support for, validating and verifying subsystems, reviewing design documentation, participating in internal and customer design reviews and following Collins quality processes and best practices.
Support the analysis and evaluation of lab and flight test data captured during testing and assess the robustness of the system design, providing detailed test reports.
Produce and maintain test records that meet the Collins and regulatory requirements.
Prepare status and technical reports.
Generate and participate in formal documentation reviews.
Work within stringent development processes and guidelines.
Adhere to exacting quality, integrity and ethical standards
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.
Hardware, software, or systems development experience with a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements capture, flow-down, validation and verification
Standard Lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Power Supplies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
RTCA MOPS and DO-160 ENV/EME Qualification testing
DO-254, DO-178C, ARP4754A product and process development standards
ARINC 429 and 708 knowledge
System certification experience (TSO, PMA, TC, or STC)
Airbus Directives (ABDs)
ALM suite of tools (JAMA, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.)
Model Based Development experience
Familiar with Test development using Labview and TestStand software
C++ or C# software development experience
