Messaging Engineer and Service Lead
The focus of this role is working within the UTC Infrastructure Services team designing and developing next generation Microsoft Exchange based email services. The Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, delivery, and operational excellence aspects of messaging services for UTC.
The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of UTC messaging service design and delivery and insuring contracted service levels are met or exceeded
Will provide guidance in the architecture, design, and migration of services from on-premise Exchange 2013 to O365 Exchange Online or on-premise Exchange 2019
Production of technical diagrams related to current state leading to future state architecture and roadmaps
The Engineer will be expected to work closely with the team in IT infrastructure, and may collaborate with other business units as necessary
This position is responsible for architecting solutions to ensure business initiatives are achieved
Individual should be a self-starter who can be effective working across multiple stakeholder groups
Will provide expert guidance for addressing current issues while also considering future state needs
Provide oversight for business email integrations and divestitures
Individual needs to have strong influencing skills to bring teams along the journey
Candidate should have approximately 5-10 years of prior relevant experience
Demonstrated experience with implementing, managing, and evaluating infrastructure technology/services; specifically focused on messaging (Exchange) and O365 services
Fundamental knowledge of network concepts and technologies and Active Directory preferred
Forensic analysis, problem solving and analytical abilities including the ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details and apply sound business knowledge desired
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed
Initiative and ability to quickly acquire knowledge
Proven ability to apply project management principles and manage complex and highly integrated projects
BS Degree desired, an advanced degree is preferred
Microsoft certifications in relevant technologies or Project Management certification are a plus
