CARRIER has an immediate opening for a Diversity & Inclusion Director.

This role will lead and direct the development and implementation of policies and practices to foster and drive a culture of inclusion and positioning Carrier as an employer of choice across all dimensions of diversity.

The ideal candidate will have near-term career upside and potential to take on broader responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the development of policies, practices and programs that create a culture where employees are supported to perform their best work. Create learning and awareness strategies that promote improved team effectiveness, leader’s ability to engage all talent on their teams and a heightened sense of belonging through Employee Resource Groups

  • Develop and monitor key metrics to assess progress in workforce representation. Use the insights gained from these key metrics to identify areas of strength and areas where more attention is required.

  • Devise and implement talent attraction strategies that differentiate Carrier and highlight the enterprise as a desired employer for all

  • Provide trusted guidance and counsel to the Executive Leadership team on issues of diversity and inclusion in order to increase awareness, drive new ways of thinking and leading.

  • Actively engage with external resources in order to stay abreast of leading practices, emerging trends and current research. Assess and incorporate that learning into Carrier’s talent strategy.

  • Partner with the broader HR team to mutually advance understanding and impact of diversity and inclusion strategies

Experience/Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the field of Human Resources

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Diversity & inclusion Learning & Development,

  • Track record of developing and implementing effective diversity and inclusion strategies in the workplace

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the need of every individual to be treated with respect and fairness; energy and passion to interface effectively with employees at all levels, work collaboratively and partner with purpose

  • Modern thinker with demonstrated ability to think creatively and thoughtfully about talent practicesAbility to work independently and in a team setting, while managing competing priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, strong teaming orientation and high adaptability.

  • Ability to work effectively and influence others in a diverse and dynamic work environment

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with applying data to business challenges

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Can lead through ambiguity.

  • Able to work with sensitive and confidential material and possess good business judgment.

  • Strong project management skills

  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)

  • Second language would be a plus

Education:

  • BA/BS in human resources, or other related field

  • MA/MS/MBA is preferred.
