The Electric Systems Data Bus Communications Development Group is looking for a Communications System Engineer. This group is responsible for all system aspects of deploying the Aircraft level serial data busses such as ARINC 664, SAE AS6003, ARINC 825, ARINC 429, ARINC 629, Mil-Std-1553B. The group also supports the creation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) used by System requirement teams, simulation teams, and product line design groups.
Executes objectives for requirements management, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large or complex projects.
Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs architectural exploration.
Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a US Citizen
Experience with requirements development and verification for a least one aircraft industry Communications standard
Experience with flowing down system requirements to support Hardware and Software design teams
Degree in Power Systems, Control Systems or similar discipline
Familiarity with the Scaled AGILE Framework process using JIRA
Experience using the requirements management tool “DOORS” and configuration management tool “Synergy”
Experience with python, VBA, DXL, and XML
Previous experience working with certifying authorities to comply with aviation databus design assurance guidelines such as CRI-F66, CRI-F30, CM E-09 Edition 1, and AC20-156
Ability to advises product line groups about the latest Comms technologies and trends
Support skills for the Communications Lab design, use, and maintenance for development level Comms integration testing
Previous experience troubleshooting labs using an oscilloscope and/or Time domain reflectometer
