This business unit is looking for an Overhaul & Repair Mechanic-Class A to join the team.
The Overhaul & Repair Mechanic-Class A will be responsible for:
Must have held both the Class A Mechanical Assembly and Class I Assembly Inspection classification.
Work to J.I.S.’s inspection procedures, overhaul manuals, blueprints and is capable of figuring fractions/decimals.
Works normally with a minimum of supervision but may be required to work with supervision and engineering on new procedures/programs etc.
Performs as required: disassembly, reassembly, inspection, repair of sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
Must perform machine operations as required.
Must be capable of machine brazing and soldering.
Must be able to use the required inspection equipment.
Must be able to complete necessary documents and records accurately and legibly.
Keeps equipment and surrounding area in a neat and orderly fashion.
Performs pressure checks and adjustments as required in the build-up of sub-assemblies and units.
Must safely wire, paint, inspect and prepare units for ship as required.
Has a good knowledge of the operation and function of assembled units.
Has knowledge of the correct tool and usage for the particular job and sets up own work and devises means for new assembly/inspection procedures.
- Previous Class A or Class 1 Assembly classification
- High School Diploma/GED

Collins Rockford is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
