The Finishing Operator I is primarily a riveting operator and oxidation coating operator. Emphasis is placed on cross training between the two processes in preparation for advancement to the next operator level (Finishing Operator II).
Learn all necessary operations for coating material and/or riveting for all programs.
Riveting Operator: Operate necessary equipment; manual riveters, auto riveters, drill presses, manual mill, scanners and process computers.
Properly complete forms including the “Record of Inspection” Form (ROI).
Understand and perform all associated MES transactions.
Oxidation Coating Operator: Operate necessary equipment: inhibitor mixing equipment, oxidation furnaces, scanners, scale computers and auto and manual coating processes.
Continuous Improvement and Safety Requirements: Learn, understand and follow established environmental, health and safety standards and procedures while performing daily duties. Is constantly aware of, and looks for, ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
Learn and maintain 5S standards of a clean, organized work area.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of similar or related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work as a team member with limited supervision.
Ability to learn, set-up and operate equipment for the specific processes• Ability to solve problems and exercise creativity to develop and/or implement practical solutions.
Ability to evaluate his/her work and exercise judgement.
Good comprehension, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read, understand and follow all policies & procedures including SOP, WI & etc.
Ability to comply with all EH&S rules
