The cohort starts in June and applicants must have received their degree prior to cohort start date. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas within the skills of the future- Digital Products, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Embedded Systems, Model Based Development, Software, Systems and UI Development. Carrier’s Graduate Hire Program provides a hands-on engineering experience in a supported, closely mentored cohort. Associates of the Graduate Hire Program will obtain career development opportunities, exposure to leadership and will develop a strong professional network. The goal of the Carrier’s Graduate Hire Program is to help early career professionals become productive and successful engineers within the one year development program.
Carrier Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and results driven individual to join their Air Management Systems (AMS) team. The AMS team is responsible for custom fan and airflow systems engineering and technology development across Carrier’s diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and transport HVAC/R equipment. This position involves the full range of design and development engineering for high performance, low-noise fans using analytical models, computational fluid dynamics, and lab testing. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of fan aerodynamics and turbomachinery design fundamentals and practical skills with fan hardware design, testing, and manufacturing. The position also includes HVAC&R systems and applications air management design and analysis. Good communication and planning skills are required.
Projects and tasks will generally focus on one or more of the following: • Fan and AMS development using analytical and experimental methods. • CFD modeling for fan and AMS flow performance and noise. • Experimental development, testing, data analysis and reporting. • Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to implement custom fan & AMS designs. • Project/Engineering Management • Program Management
Specific Responsibilities include: • Design and development of refrigeration systems and components. • Develop computer models to simulate system and component performance. • Work with design team in developing cost effective designs. • Develop and manage laboratory qualification programs for new products. • Work with factory team to investigate quality issues on current products and develop solutions to improve overall product quality.
Education: • BS\MS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 0-5 years of experience
Comments: Successful candidates must possess or have background in: • Aerodynamic design of turbomachinery. • CFD analysis of rotating machines and other flow-path systems. • Aerodynamics and acoustic experimental methods, instrumentation, and data analysis. • Emphasis on low-speed, low-pressure ratio fans and blowers is a plus. • Mechanical design, structures, prototyping and fabrication is a plus. • Familiarity with HVAC&R equipment and systems is a plus. • Solid technical skills and analytical proficiency. • Strong communicational skills with proven ability to interact with cross functional team of engineering, design, manufacturing and lab team members. • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office tools.
