Otis Elevator Company (Jupiter, FL) has an opening within its Legal Department for a Commercial Contract Specialist. Broadly, the Commercial Contract Specialist will review, analyze, negotiate, and provide guidance to Otis’ business units on terms and conditions in commercial bid and contract documents. Integral to the position is the ability to provide practical minded guidance that helps business units achieve commercial objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and laws.

The successful candidate will:

Have a strong understanding of general contracting principles and concepts, and be able to critically analyze risks associated with terms and conditions in contract documents;

Effectively communicate legal concepts and risks to junior and senior business personnel;

Have strong inter-personal skills, and be able to work with and adapt to diverse internal business personnel and external customers;

Critically think about opportunities for process improvement including through the use of technology, and take ownership of assignments and projects;

Excellent writing ability.

Education / Experience :

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years commercial contract review, analysis, and negotiation experience at a company or law firm.

M.S/MBA plus 3 years
