The Collins Aerospace F135 Program Team has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Reliability Engineer to lead improvement and management of the F135 engine control system for the F135 Engine Fleet. The F135 fleet currently has a fleet of 178 F135 aircraft's in the fields with the total fleet projected to be over 3,500 aircraft's. The F135 aircraft will be operated by all US military forces and 8 partnering counties/foreign military customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with the customer, leads, engineering disciplines, and program office to quantitively track the F135 control system component reliability and to provide strategic and tactical directions/actions to continuously improve our reliability.

  • Managing engineering investigations using sound fault tree and root cause processes.

  • Working with customers to ensure that the appropriate issues are properly investigated and managed

  • Clearly communicate the top issues and the effectiveness of the action plans to the leadership and customers team.

  • You will have the responsibility as a Cost Account Manager (CAM), managing costs, scheduling performance, reporting monthly to the customers on performance, variances and identifying scheduling/costs risks/opportunities.

  • Wiling to travel up to 10% of the time.

Education / Certifications :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Master’s degree in engineering is preferred.

Experience / Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree with 7 years of engineering experience or master’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience - you must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

  • Leadership experience – you must have the capability of leading multiple IPT teams to achieve results.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • A consistent positive attitude wit a strong teamwork competency that allows candidates to build relationships with peers, leaders, and customers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
