The Collins Aerospace F135 Engineering team has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an F135 Service Engineer-OKC Depot. The F135 Service Engineer-OKC Depot ​will provide daily support for military repairs at Tinker Air Force Base working out of the Collins Aerospace F135 office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position will work closely with the maintenance technicians by providing on-site technical support integrating new repairs/engineering changes, identifying the need for repair process improvements, and developing service bulletins. This engineering focal will be a part of a cross functional team located in Oklahoma City including quality, program management, and contracts supporting the component Repair Dept. The selected candid will team with existing F135 Program/Aftermarket/Engineering teams along with Depot and Field site representatives to provide the end customer with exceptional support in operating, maintaining, and sustained the F135 fleet. The candidate must develop effective technical support solutions with strong ability to communicate at all levels (executive to technicians). The F135 Senior Service Engineering function as the “voice of the customer” for promoting positive changes to the products and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of engineering changes.

  • Implementation of repairs.

  • Identifying repair process improvements.

  • This person will work with the technical publications for initiation, planning, and coordinating the service bulletin, service information letters, and component maintenance manuals.

  • Initiating engineering changes.

  • Repair training to the Depot maintenance technicians.

  • Developing support of component repair procedures, development support of field service limits, LRU repairs, field investigations, and operational capability of the report depot.

  • Wiling to travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Experience as a service engineer.

  • Experience with military customers and/or aftermarket

  • Electronic controls, systems, sensors, and electrical controls experience.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Proficient with engineering drawings, engineering changes, component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and configuration management controls.

Education:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
