As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Flammability Specialist that can be located in Winnipeg, Mb, or in Everett, WA.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Certification Engineering Manager, the Flammability Specialist will assist with the certification process on multiple projects and platforms under the direction and guidance of senior certification specialists, as well as help coordinate aircraft certification projects. The Flammability Specialist will develop project management skills, business communication skills, and knowledge of the standards governing aviation safety with a strong desire to become a Transport Canada Authorized Person.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review engineering design data and prepare flammability test plans/reports.

  • Review customer-supplied flammability test plans/reports.

  • Coordinate with senior specialists regarding acceptance of flammability test plans/reports.

  • Coordinate with internal/external flammability test labs regarding conduct of tests, disposition of deviations/failures, etc.

  • Prepare certification data packages in accordance with the requirements of the Design Approval Organization manuals.

  • Acquire knowledge of the certification standards (regulations), guidance material and the means of demonstrating compliance against those standards.

  • Liaise with Transport Canada Delegates (internal and external) and technical specialists, as required.

  • Administrative duties including acquiring data from customers, organizing data and routing documents for internal approval, to customers and to Transport Canada.

  • Participate in meetings with the team, company, and customers as required.

  • Transmit data to customers and airworthiness authorities.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Solid organizational, interpersonal and technical communication skills.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to customers inside or outside of Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Aerospace industry experience.

  • Flammability analysis and testing experience.

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree.

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
