Role Summary

To provide comprehensive HR generalist support to the Wolverhampton site and assigned Value Stream. Working closely with Functional Leadership and the Operations Management team, the role requires the ability to influence others in order to drive through Collins Aerospace Systems HR initiatives and requirements.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills to ensure a strong relationship is built with your stakeholders in order to drive and continue the progress made in implementing the People Strategy across the value stream. This role will focus on attracting, retaining and developing the best talent, supporting our leaders to embed the Collins' Values and driving a performance culture, across the organisation.

Principal Accountabilities

Business Leader

  • Attend and participate in Gemba meetings

  • Lead regular HR review within the Value Stream

  • Member of the Value Stream management team

  • Attendance and key contributor for PDMs / AIM / ACE

Strategic Planner

  • Design and deliver strategic resourcing plans / workforce trends based on capacity plans

  • Absence Management

  • Organisation design / structure

Trusted Partner

  • Act as a credible and trusted partner

Relationship Builder

  • Ability to develop and effectively leverage relationships across HR and within the Value Stream

Talent Champion

  • Drive excellence throughout the organisation by assessing and developing talent

Culture and Change Ambassador

  • Champion 'Pulse' employee survey and engagement

  • Drive Performance Management in assigned Value Stream

  • Keep Inclusion and Diversity at the forefront

  • Change Management

Requirements:

Personal Characteristics

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Must be detail conscious, highly organised and able to plan effectively

  • Must have strong influencing skills, be a confident relationship builder

  • Able to manage conflict and resistance effectively

  • Flexible outlook towards changing tasks and priorities shown by a willingness to undertake HR special projects as needed

  • Needs to be a confident and clear communicator using both written and verbal skills

  • Must be action oriented and possess a drive for results

  • Numerically and logically driven

  • Expert Excel skills

Career experience

  • Appropriate degree, and/or CIPD qualified

  • Trade Union exposure

  • Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrable background of working with HR systems and policies, providing advice and guidance at all levels

  • Experience of Lean & Policy Deployment tools

  • Experience of dealing with a diverse workforce
